Stop The Spread Brochure

Concept & Strategy

Designed a comprehensive, accessible, and community-focused trifold brochure for the CDC, focused on promoting simple, actionable hygiene and prevention habits. The core challenge was to make public health directives (that are often perceived as dry or restrictive) feel empowering, simple, and rooted in community care. The messaging emphasizes that small, daily changes can have a massive impact on group health.

Design Overview

Color Palette

The design utilizes a professional yet welcoming color scheme. A deep indigo purple provides a strong, reliable base, while a vibrant gradient lime green is used strategically for key headers, call-outs, and informational blocks (such as the “Breathe Easy” panel) to create contrast and capture attention.

Typograhy
A clean, modern sans-serif typeface is used throughout, ensuring maximum readability for a diverse audience. Information is heavily structured using large, bold headers, bullet points, and distinct colored sections, allowing readers to easily scan and digest key takeaways.

Imagery & Iconography

The brochure combines authentic stock photography with minimalist iconography. Because the department organizer did not want any clinic-based photography, I decided to showcase community-focused settings like indiviudals washing their hands, students getting hand sanitizer from their teachers and people engaging at community events.

Line art icons are incorporated with instructional text (e.g., when to wash hands, use santizer, etc). These are meant to add visual interest without cluttering the layout.
