B.A.P.S. (an acronym for Black American Princesses) is a comedy film that follows the story of two best friends, Nisi (Halle Berry) and Mickey (Natalie Desselle Reid), who dream of opening a combination hair salon and soul food restaurant in their neighborhood in Decatur, Georgia. Determined to raise the necessary funds, the duo travels to Los Angeles to audition for a music video, hoping it will be their big break.
In a twist of fate, they are hired by the wealthy and eccentric Mr. Blakemore (Martin Landau) to pose as his long-lost granddaughter and her friend. As they navigate the world of high society, Nisi and Mickey charm their way into the hearts of Mr. Blakemore and his staff, discovering unexpected opportunities and friendships along the way.
