Because I Said So is a romantic comedy that centers around Daphne Wilder (Diane Keaton), an overprotective and well-meaning single mother of three daughters: Maggie (Lauren Graham), Mae (Piper Perabo), and Milly (Mandy Moore). Concerned about Milly’s tendency to pick the wrong men, Daphne takes it upon herself to find the perfect partner for her youngest daughter.

Daphne secretly places a personal ad on behalf of Milly and interviews potential suitors, ultimately selecting Jason (Tom Everett Scott), a seemingly perfect and successful architect. However, Milly unexpectedly meets Johnny (Gabriel Macht), a charming musician, who also becomes a contender for her heart.

As Milly navigates her romantic prospects, she must confront her mother’s meddling and make her own choices about love and relationships. Meanwhile, Daphne learns important lessons about letting go and trusting her daughters to find happiness on their own terms. The film combines humor and heartfelt moments as it explores the complexities of mother-daughter relationships and the journey to finding true love.
