Matilda is a family comedy-drama based on the novel by Roald Dahl, following the story of Matilda Wormwood (Mara Wilson), a remarkably intelligent and gifted young girl with telekinetic abilities. Despite her brilliance, Matilda grows up in a neglectful and uncaring family, with parents who fail to appreciate her talents and interests.

When Matilda starts attending Crunchem Hall Primary School, she encounters the tyrannical headmistress, Miss Trunchbull (Pam Ferris), who terrorizes the students with her cruel and abusive ways. However, Matilda also meets the kind and compassionate teacher, Miss Honey (Embeth Davidtz), who recognizes Matilda’s extraordinary abilities and nurtures her potential.

As Matilda develops her powers, she uses them to stand up against Miss Trunchbull’s tyranny and bring justice to her school. With clever tricks and courage, Matilda helps Miss Honey reclaim her life and transforms the school into a place of joy and learning. The film combines humor, heart, and magic, celebrating the power of intelligence, resilience, and the importance of standing up for what is right.
